Deje Vu

As I was sitting on the couch, snuggling with my three pre-schoolers, it dawned on me that the picture I snapped of Gavin entering his classroom this morning reminded me a lot of one I snapped of a smaller Owen.

Owen at 15 months old.

Gavin at 22 months old.
Same outfit.  Same expression.  Different Quinlan Boy.

First Day of Preschool 2012-2013

All three of my boys are at preschool today.  A milestone for sure!  Baby Gavin saw his backpack in the line up, picked it up, and said "off we go" as he walked to the car!
He had all he needed -- his "tacky" (blanket), lunch, sippy cup, and a few spare diapers and he was off!

Owen wanted to be dropped off first.  He was chomping at the bit to get into that classroom and see his friends!  We'll probably drop him off first everytime, since he has the busiest school day of the three of  'em.
Liam very confidently walked in the door and then, shyly, turned back around so I could snap a photo.  He was excited to go play with the cars in the classroom!
Baby Gavers got less confient when he realized he wasn't leaving the building with momma.  Broke my heart.  But, I got reports before I left the building that he only cried for a couple of minutes and then started playing with the toys.  By 10 AM I had received two texts with pictures of the little guy playing happily from my good friend that is subbing in that room!
Heard from a little birdie that at Liam's recess he and one of his buddies came over to the glass door to Gavin's room.  Liam knocked and waved at baby Gavin -- Gavin waved back and kept playing.  I am so glad to have heard that story.  It warms my heart!

I am now sitting in a very, very quiet house that has a lot of boxes and clutter for me to get through!

Better make my last hour of free time productive!

Liam's 1st Soccer Practice

We spent most of the month of August traveling!  The beach with my family, followed by a trip to England with Gerard's family.  Both were great fun.  And, both were relaxing.  And, both proved great opportunities to take tons of pictures!  I will catch up and get some on the blog.

But, we are back home and getting back into the swing of things.  Both Owen and Liam are playing sports this Fall.  Owen is back in action on the t-ball field; playing his 2nd season with the Cubs.  And, Little Liam joined some of his school buddies to form a soccer team -- the Dragons.  Liam took his ball, shin guards, and cleats to England on got some practice over there.  Today, however, was his first time to practice with the team.  It started out pretty well, and went downhill, only to recover once it was over.  He says he had fun.  We'll go with that for now and hope for the best at the game.

Owen walking Liam to his practice field.  These two were talking non-stop, but I was too far back to hear what they were saying.

Liam on the field with some of his team mates.  He got his uniform from Coach and wanted to wear it to practice in.  He is number 3!
There he goes -- kicking it right smack dab in the goal.
It was after I cheered for him,He came over to high-five me and then didn't want to go back.  Thought he had played enough and was ready to go to the park.  Unfortunately for him, there was still over 30 minuts of practice to be had.  Oy.

After practice, however, when I asked him if he had fun, he said "yes."  And, after playing at the park for a bit, he was grinning and ready to play more soccer on Saturday.
I will hope for the best.  At least their shouldn't be playground equipment right next to the soccer field on Saturday, right?
