Liam & Gavin :: Meet the Teacher

Liam and Gavin start back at preschool next week.  This week they had a Meet the Teacher where they got to check out their new rooms and Gavin got to meet his teachers.  Liam already knows his since Owen had them last year.  Liam is just super-duper excited to be in the Purple Room this year.  He has already done the "homework" they got at Meet the Teacher and asks me every morning if it's time to go.  Smart Man....his teachers ROCK!

Gavin is in the Green Room.  At first, there were too many kids and parents in the room and Gavers wasn't feeling it.  But, we went back after the crowd left and he was more himself.  One of the teachers has 3 boys.  I *heart* her.  Immediately clicked with her!  They both were so very nice so I know Gavers is in good hands.  Nice little bonus is that we will get to say "hello" to  Ms. Tara and Ms. Jill from the Yellow Room every morning when we drop off the littlest Quinlan.

Liam snagged the camera and started snapping photos....
...so, momma got to be in one with the Little Quinlan.  He was too busy coloring to say "cheese".  That's okay.  At least we all get to know I was there :)
He found his name on the bulletin board.  I don't remember if Owen or Liam recognized their name so well at 2.5.  Regardless, let's be impressed by how smart this kid is, shall we?

For anyone who doubts that the serious middle man has a silly streak...this picture is for you.  He rolled his way down the hall to the Purple Room.  Litterally.  He rolled there.  That's Liam for ya.
Liam found his name in the Purple Pond!
Cute picture with Gavin looking on.  LOL
Liam wasn't sure why he needed to meet his teachers since "he already knows them."  Owen reminded him that it's just part of it and he had to do it.  So, he did it.  And, we left and started in on the homework.  All seems well.  Prayers he doesn't break down and cry the first day.  He certainly is capable of throwing me a curve ball like that.  He is my middle man after all.

The Yellow School Bus Stopped at OUR House today

Since we moved here, the boys have enjoyed watching the yellow school bus drop off children on our road.  Today, Liam and Gavin were in for a real treat.  Their big brother was ON the school bus!

Gavin and Liam watching for the bus, eating candy, and being silly.

No bus yet; but, there was a plane flying overhead.

Gavin got so excited to see the bus!!
There's Owen!!  I saw his sweet little face peering out the first window and it made me tear up.  Couldn't help myself.

 He did it!!!
Owen's Kindergarten Report:  His favorite part was riding the bus.  He made one friend in his class and made lots of baskets during basketball at recess.  He cannot wait to go back tomorrow.

Gavin was curious about every detail of the bus ride.  Liam was curious about what he did for that whole time he was gone.

5:15 and Owen has shared a little more.  The sang a song to introduce themselves "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Look Who's in our Room."  Also, Owen was the Calendar Helper today -- he was quite proud of that ;)

Owen's First Day of Kindergarten

Owen started Kindergarten today!  I went to wake him at 7:00 and he, jokingly, said "mom, why are you waking me up so early today???"  I don't know, I said.  Wasn't there someplace to go today?  I can't quite remember.  And we both laughed.  What fun that he is so excited about starting school!

Owen posing in his monogrammed shirt he wanted for Kinder.  This will probably be the only day he ever wears it; but, it was worth it for these pictures!

He was handing me the notebook and I snapped a photo because he looks so much like my dad -- the Marine Corps Drill Instructor -- with this look on his face.
I love this kid--I will frame this picture for sure!
We hooked up with Owen's friend, Sydney, for the walk into school.  Little Miss Puster had a smile for everyone she saw and gave Owen a few tips as we walked her into the 3rd grade.  Love this girl.
Owen hopped in his seat and got to work -- just like his awesome teachers at Suncreek taught him to do!
Owen was quite happy to be there and ready for me to leave.  I asked him for a quick smile and got out of there before I started to cry.
He is going to have so much fun making new friends and learning new things!

Owen's Meet the Teacher Night

Owen was so excited tonight!  We got to meet his Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Dorris, tonight.  And, Owen was able to look around the school at the various classrooms (Spanish, Music, Art, Library) and meet the Principal, Asst Principal and specials teachers.  He is on cloud nine!

Owen in his chair working on the treasure hunt the teacher had for him to complete.
Finding his cubbie and marking that off his list.  Lucky Number #13 ;)
Liam snapped this picture of me and my big Kinder Kid in the classroom.

I can't wait to hear about Owen's first day and am so thankful that he is so excited about school.  The Spanish teacher was talking to him and turned to me and said "I can tell he is so excited."  Makes me happy!  I think we are going to love our teacher, our school, and all of the fun things that come with being a Lovejoy Leopard!!

Summertime Sprinkler Splash-Fest

It's been ages since I last posted.  So long that now I can't decide where to start.  So, I will just start with some fun images I captured today while the boys were playing in the sprinkler.  Looking at these pictures I am stunned by how much older all three boys look.
