Fun Times!

Thursday, Owen's class had their Christmas Party. Liam's school doesn't do parties and Owen, typically, doesn't enjoy his. I had the bright idea to pick Liam up from his school early and take him to Owen's class (siblings are welcome at the parties as many of the kids have younger brothers and sisters). I think that Owen feels that since I am in the class, it is time to go home, and he won't get too engrossed in the activity for fear I may leave him. I thought that with Liam there, he could chill a bit and have fun. I was right ;-) I love it when I am right! ha!

The class was to gather on the mats for their instructions....Liam just went on over and sat down with the big kids. Emma M and Emma D loved Owen's baby "Wiam".

They taped ornaments to a tree as one activity. They were supposed to be blindfolded and wearing a Santa hat. A few of the kids did that...the rest just put their ornament up there.

Then the real fun began. All of the kids were given sugar cookies, frosting, m&ms, and sprinkles to decorate. There was one extra cookie, so Liam and Ethan's little sister, Abby, got to split one. Liam just hopped right up in Owen's chair to participate in the fun. So, we got him his own chair and little Boo went to town!

I am not sure who enjoyed this more... Owen or Liam.
Sweet Owen....he added sprinkles to Liam's cookie for him.
My two sweet boys at the end of the table. I think it's so funny how "at home" Liam was there.

After the party, Liam didn't want to leave. ha! He was tugging on my shirt to keep me from walking out of the door. Too funny.
Both boys came home with crafts they worked on this December. Owen is showing off most of his at the same time....
His crown, his jingle bell ornament, and his stocking. He had others, but needed more hands to show them all.
Liam had a bunch of cute crafts, too. This one was really funny to me. Cute. But, funny. Something about the fact that his grouchy little face from his school picture was affixed to an angel just tickles me.
The boys got to put their ornaments on the tree, with help from Daddy Q.
Gavin didn't make the class party; but, he did make the blog post!

a little grouchy about not being held....
...just a funny expression....
...taking a rest during the photo shoot....
...our little two week old chunky monkey. Gavin now weighs 5 pounds 9.5 ounces!
Hooray for fun times 'round here.

Per Your Request...

I received a request from my Aunt Dona for some footage of the little guy in motion! The first clips are from last Saturday. The new ones are from tonight. The quality on the newer ones isn't so great...little sticky fingers had touched the lens of the FlipVideo and I didn't realize it until I uploaded these and all of my actors were in bed ;-)

This second clip is from Owen coloring pictures for Dona, Julie, and GG. He wanted to send a little something to them from him for Christmas. He picked the pictures out on the Internet, I printed them, and he colored. After coloring them, he rolled them up himself for me to tie a ribbon around. The whole time, he kept saying that they were going to "looooooooove this." It was way too cute not to try and capture. He kind of says it once; but, then realizes I am videoing, so he doesn't do it again.

I have to admit that, so far, this is the best December I have ever had in my life!!! These three boys are making it so merry and bright around here! And, Chippie arrived last night. We are getting a full(er) house for the holidays! Such excitement!

Busy Brothers

Liam enjoyed some time holding Gavin yesterday (before we learned that Liam has a contagious cold...yikes).
Liam is far more gental with Gavin than Owen was with Liam when Liam was Gavin's age (did you follow that?).

Thankfully, Owen & Liam are still buddies, too! Owen is a very busy big brother--he is doing double duty now.
They enjoyed reading together on the stairs for a bit yesterday. Owen really read the story to him.
Thought this was funny. I was working on a video of Owen holding Gavin. Owen thought that we needed a close up of Gavin...I haven't looked to see how the video turned out.
Gavin gained 2 ounces in the last 2 days! horray!!! I had been waiting on his bath as I didn't want him to use too much energy; but, the doctor said it was fine to go forward. So...Owen and I bathed Gavin today. Needless to say, Gavin did not like the bath one bit.
But, I do think he enjoyed the squeaky clean feeling afterward! Oh man...he smells so yummy. It was already hard to put him down (this baby gets held A LOT)...now it's near impossible.
Owen chatting with Gavin while Gavin was awake for a bit this afternoon.
An action shot of Liam and Owen. They are each in their respective chairs watching Dora while Tobie scavanges for snacks left behind.
It's busy around here. Busy, but so much fun!

Gavin is one week old today!

Baby Gavin is a week old today! This tiny fellow has made us feel totally at peace and in love with him and with our family just the way it is now. I already LOVE being a mom to 3 boys. I can see so much fun in our future!
But, first, we have to get Gavin bigger! Little man had a check up this morning to assess his weight and it didn't go well. While he has grown an inch since birth, he has lost 6 ounces of weight in the same amount of time. We are hoping that he is on his way back up and will visit the doctor again on Sunday to confirm that. If so....that will be GREAT news! If not, I am uncertain of the next step. I know that I am ready to have a chunky guy! He doesn't even fit into the Preemie sized clothes my friend Lanie mailed him...he is that little right now. Owen and Liam both told him to "Grow Gavin Grow" many times today. Owen commented this evening that he thinks its working. I hope he is right about that!
Speaking of Owen...that is one big brother that can't get enough of the newest baby in the house. Monday night, after his Christmas program at school (which he chose not to participate in) he came promply home, crawled on the couch, and asked to hold he baby. He LOVES holding his baby.

As I feed baby Gavin, Owen sits and pets his head. When it's time to burp him, Owen often takes over. He holds Gavin on his shoulder, pets his back, and says "it's okay baby, everything's okay, Big Owen's got you." Priceless. I need to get it on video.

Happy one week birthday, Baby Gavin.
Grow Gavin, Grow!

Gavin Walter is Home!

Some pictures from the last few days!!

Me with my three boys on Gavin's birth day.
Gavin and his buddy, Cole, getting to know each other (see more of this cutie pie on Parker & Cole's blog...link on the right).

Owen was so excited that Gavin got to come home with us. He is holding him and telling him about the car and house.
Gavin in real clothes ... getting ready to go home.
Owen wouldn't put the little fella down until the room was all packed and we were headed out the door. I think he wanted to make sure we didn't forget him (Gavin, that is).
Finally talked Owen into letting me photograph Gavin on his own....he is still holding his hand, though. So sweet.
Gavin was not happy about the car seat...not one bit. He cried until we got him out of it at home. Thankfully we live only a few minutes from the hospital.
Grandpa Tex came to meet little Gavin today.
I put Grandpa to work and had a quick photoshoot with my three little guys.
Just the boys.
Man, Owen is so happy to have another sibling!
Liam isn't quite as excited as Owen; but, he does make sure he gets his share of Gavin time. A copule of times this afternoon, while Owen was otherwise occupied, Liam came over to sit with me and Gavin. He pet Gavin on the head, pointed to Gavin's nose, Liam's nose, and my nose, and sat with a book for the two of them to read together. Pretty sweet moments.
Just the two bigs...the Big Brother and Biggest Brother in their cute t-shirts from JoJa Q boutique!
We are so blessed! This is going to be the absolute BEST Christmas ever. I am one happy, happy, mama!

My Little Models

A couple of my friends and I started a small business doing monogramming/appliques, baby goods (burp cloths, bibs, etc), and note cards. Erin did Christmas shirts for my boys; so, I put them to work modeling them for the business blog ;-). Thought the photos were too cute not to share here, too.

Both boys in their camo tree shirts this morning before school.
My happy, silly, kid-who-is-always-up-for-having-a-photo-taken model.

My not-so-happy, loves-my-paci-and-mom-took-it-out, kid-who-doesn't-live-to-pose model ;-)

But, both of my models are just way too cute!!! Love that they can be so similar in so many ways; but, so different in others. It's what makes the world go round and keeps our house exciting ;-)
