Liam is 10 Months Old Today

Liam turned 10 months old today! Puddin' Pop is a busy little fella. I could write a book about him; but I am pretty wiped out. So, tonight...just pictures and a promise to write more this weekend!

Two things before I go to bed though. 1. Little man now says three words: "go, go, go", "mama", and "juice." He has a husky, deep voice that doesn't seem to fit his little body. Its cute. 2. He is pretty darn attached to mama. The example, below, is him crying simply because I walked back to snap a photo. He wants me close. Sweetheart.
I will have to pull this picture out when he is 10 YEARS old and doesn't even want to stand next to me in the line for a movie....

Owen & Dancing With the Stars: Week 2

Last night, after Liam went "night-night", Owen and I had a date. I popped the popcorn, got us a Crystal Light drink, and turned on the DVR so Owen and I could watch, as he calls it, "The Dancing." For an hour (I fast forwarded through commercials), we hung out and watched. When the dancing started...Owen set his popcorn down and hit the dance floor. Sometimes he wanted me to dance with him....sometimes he danced solo...everytime, it made me laugh. Enjoy!

Adventure Monday

The weather was gorgeous today and the boys and I didn't have one single thing on the agenda. So, I asked Owen this morning if he wanted to go on an adventure. Yes, he did. So, we packed up the car and headed south to walk among trees, flowers, and other fun stuff!
Owen was antsy to throw rocks into every bit of water he came across. This is him trying to figure out where to find a rock, piece of bark, ANYTHING, that he could toss into the stream where the goldfish were. Luckily, he ended up with a couple of brown leaves (as opposed to a rock that I pictured knocking a fish out cold) and I was able to let him fuel his desire to throw.

Liam enjoying watching his brother throw the leaves.

We spent a bit of time at the Pioneer exhibit. Owen loved riding in the "train." I kept telling him it was a covered wagon that Pioneer's used to travel with way back when...yadda yadda yadda. He just kept being excited about the train.
Then, he wanted "baby to come, too?" Baby Liam was more than happy to exit the stroller a crawl around in the train with big brother.

I think Owen's favorite site was the John Deere gator. Every time one would pass by, he would watch and wave. He kept asking me if he could ride on one. This one was just parked...he spent a considerable amount of time looking around it and when the driver returned, Owen stared at him in awe.
We also like this guy... he had bees made of flowers swarming him that Owen told me stung him {Owen} on the nose ... I had to kiss his nose "all better."
Liam had fun crawling through crepe myrtle alley.
I wanted to try and get a shot of the boys together. At first, Owen was eager to cooperate. When Liam would face the wrong way or start to crawl off, Owen would hold his head in place and tell him "Liam, you are not listening to mama." That would make Liam mad. So, Owen would let go. In the end, the one up top and this one were the best I got!
Hope you had an adventurous Monday, too!

Wordless Wednesday

Many bloggers participate in a common theme on Wednesdays..."Wordless Wednesdays." I have thought about joining in and just posting a few pictures and hitting "publish post." This was going to be the one picture I posted...
...and, I wasn't going to say a thing about it.

But, then again, I always feel slighted when I see a "Wordless Wednesday" blogpost, as I often want the story behind the photo. So.... I thought I might do my own version. Maybe do a group of photos with a similar "story" and just give a very brief intro. So, I went through the others that I was itching to post and tried to pick just a few that would tell a story. No luck. So, in the end, I just decided to post like I usually would. You can stop at the image above if you are dying for a Wordless Wednesday experience. Or, you can keep scrolling down if you want to see more of my sweet boys. Either way...enjoy.

Liam and Curious George have become friends. Not so much that this is his official "lovee"; but, he does like to cuddle C.G.

...and talk to C.G.

...and, did I mention, cuddle him. Awwwww.
Owen has been practicing more tennis with Daddy.

...and throwing tantrums if he missed the ball. Just in case I might one day forget Owen's tantrums, I thought I would stick a picture of one up here so that it makes the book I am doing for Owen & Liam. Owen's tantrums are, at least, quiet. He gets mad, kneels down and puts his head to the ground, and stays perfectly still until he cools off. To give you an idea of how long that can be...this particular one probably lasted 30-45 seconds. Today, at baseball, one lasted a good 3-4 minutes. When he gets up, he practically has steam coming out of his ears he is so fuming mad. He huffs and puffs and stomps around for a few seconds and then... he, often, will smile, resume playing, and act like nothing happened. That, my friends, is an Owen-Tantrum.
I watched Liam eating his banana and watching Dora today and just thought he looked so big.

Gerard wanted me to post this one for Chippie so that she could see our flowers.

Liam is watching his crazy brother....

...."jump to the sky."

Umph. Stuck the landing.

Awesome!

Twinkle Toes

Owen usually has a "no dancing" policy. If I am dancing in the kitchen while making dinner, he will frown and tell me, "no dancing, mama." If Gerard is dancing into the room and Owen sees him..."no dancing, daddy." But, on Monday nights, this boy lets a little slack in his rules. For the duration of Dancing With the Stars...we dance. All of us. Mama dances. Mama dances with Owen. Mama dances with Liam. Owen dances with Liam. And, sometimes, Owen dances with the stars.... Last night, he really took off when Nicole and Derek took the floor and danced to Pretty Woman. **Please excuse the chaotic house...it was cool outside and we played indoors all day...big mess...oh, and the marker on Owen's legs...ignore that, too...oh, and the no pants...uh...just focus on the cute boy dancing, please**

Walking the Dog.

For the last couple of weeks, since the weather turned absolutely gorgeous, the boys and I have been taking an evening walk with our dog, Tobie (aka Bubba). We all really look forward to this time. Owen likes to walk alongside the stroller and me. He plays in the leaves, runs with Bubba, and finds great sticks. I have called him Huck Finn a time or two.

In other news, Owen has regained interest in riding a bike since many of his friends are and since I have started pulling he and Liam in the trailer behind mine. Sheer bliss on his face...you would think he was really cruising along instead of just creeping along at a very slow pace.
And, last, but not least. Can you believe the blue eyes on this baby? Where did he get those aqua colored eyes? This shirt really brought them out, so I was glad to have some decent light within which to capture them. Ocean Eyes. Just gorgeous.
Happy Thursday, Y'all!

Celebrating Daddy Q.'s Birthday

Daddy Q had a birthday recently and the boys were so excited to celebrate with him! Owen and I ran out and got a few gifts for him that morning....he is so hard to buy for that we didn't have the ideas until the last minute! In the end, we got him work boots to use while we make the lake lot ready to play/build on (from me), a bucket of tennis balls (from Owen), and a Lady GaGa CD (from Liam...Gerard's request).

The birthday guy with his little 'un.
Owen "helping" Daddy open his gifts.

Gerard had gotten Owen a tennis racket recently. Owen LOVES it. The first night, Owen took it with him to bed. The racket and the boy have been pretty inseparable. Gerard took Owen out for his first "lesson" in the drive way. He wanted Owen to balance the ball on the head of the racket and walk back and forth...

Owen kinda cheated; but, he was very, very proud of himself!

He did keep asking, over and over, when they were going to get to "hit those balls." Here's our little tennis star in the making waiting for the ball to be hit to him.
If he ever wins a Wimbledon Championship, folks, remember this post. ;-)
Happy Birthday, to the best Daddy these 2 little boys could ever hope for.

Easter Celebrations

We hope everyone had a great Easter! We sure did a lot last week. Everything was fun...well, everything except for seeing Easter bunnies. But, besides that...all we had was fun.
Owen wasn't happy about sitting on the table. Liam wasn't happy that Owen was crying. Even bribery with a blue sucker didn't work. Oh well. Its a GREAT photo, isn't it?

Baby Liam's 1st Easter!
Last Sunday, we had a neighborhood hunt right during nap time! We didn't stay too long, but the boys did enjoy hunting eggs. Here they are waiting for the hunt for their age group to start.
Owen is serious about hunting ;-) He got 8 eggs and then called it quits.
Liam found the 1 egg that was right next to him and just played with it the whole time.
He would have come home with only one in his basket, but his big bro hooked him up with a 2nd egg ;-) Sure am glad I donated 2 dozen?!?
Owen stayed as far from the Easter Bunny as he could; but, Liam sat in his lap for a picture (reluctantly, it appears).
Owen, me, and Liam on Easter Sunday. Owen is saying "cheeeeeze." Can you hear him?
Liam.
Owen.Gerard with his two sons. Owen just wanted to jump off of the rock over and over. I love how this picture turned out.
Gerard and Liam watching Owen run and be silly in the grass. One of these Quinlans is more humored than the other by our oldest son. Can you tell which?
Owen throwing a piece of mulch "to the sky."

The boy's baskets full of fun stuff that was not left by the Easter Bunny. No Sireee. The Easter Bunny did not come to our house...nope. Just ask Owen. The Easter Bunny is "at his home going night-night."

Owen opening Liam's gift. This system works rather well. Owen LOVES opening presents and Liam doesn't get interested in them one bit. Luckily, Owen recognizes what is his and what is Liam's and doesn't try to just take them all of himself.

Our Easter Table set for dinner. The centerpiece includes eggs dyed by Owen.
Austin, Owen, and Emma having Easter dinner.
Time to hunt eggs!

Baby Brooke (Austin's little sister). She's a doll, isn't she?
Austin enjoying the stickers he found in one of his eggs!
Owen wanted his dad to open an egg for him. From about 2-3 feet back, he tossed it to Gerard. The egg landed right in Gerard's beer. Absolutely HILARIOUS!

Liam slept through the egg hunt. When he woke up, he searched through discarded eggs for M&Ms. Poor baby.
Lara with her sweet, almost 2 week old, baby girl.
It was a great week and we really enjoyed sharing Easter with great friends. It was so much fun to watch the kiddos hunt eggs together. And, even more fun watching them try and talk their dad's into letting them have more and more candy. Ha!
