Ireland: Part One

Gerard and I packed up the boys (and their stuff....oh, the stuff we had to take) and took them to Ireland for 9 days. We were joined by Gerard's Mum ("Chippie"), Gerard's God-Mother ("Maureen"), my Aunts Dona and Julie, and my very good friend Lanie. It was quite a group!
We arrived at the airport a couple of hours before our flight--just in case we needed the time. But, we got through check in and security fast. So, the boys had a while to stretch their legs and run around!

Liam received his very first ever passport stamp this trip. It's his first international vacation (aside from the trips he took to England and Mexico while I was pregnant with him).
Julie and Dona were on our flight. After landing, we met Lanie in a town called Ennis. Can you tell we are all pretty tired?
We made it to our place in Kilkee, got settled, and went to bed early. The next day, we explored Kilkee. This landscape is a mere 1 and a half miles or so from the house we rented. Gorgeous, isn't it?

In Ireland, it is common to have shrines in the fields. This is one that was near the road. The owner's had a section in their fence that was left open (as in not built in that spot), so we felt like it was okay to get close to see. Such a neat experience.
Owen enjoyed bounding in the fields ;-)

We saw lots and lots and lots of farmland. Owen wanted to get close to these horses, so we did ;-) He decided this was close enough (they are behind a fence....its just hard to see).
Lucky cows! What a view!
We came upon an old cemetery and got out to look. As you can imagine, there are a lot of these.

Our drive that first day ended at this gorgeous spot.
That evening, we ate dinner at a pub in town. It was Liam's first pub experience. He had pizza ;-)
Aunt Julie had a Guinness.
After dinner, Owen was ready to run around. He and I went window shopping while the rest to the group finished. He found a tractor and farm set that he thought Liam would love.
Turned out that Liam was more interested in the balls.
And that, was our first couple of days....getting there and exploring...
Oh, and this was the view from our house....
More to come....

That looks so gorgeous! I love your pictures. Rob wanted to guess Ireland in your previous post but we were afraid we were way off. Can't wait to see more!
