O's Half-Birthday: Family and Fireworks!

The 4th of July marks six months for Baby O--I cannot believe how quickly the time flew by! What a change 6 months makes...

This morning, the scale picture was a tough one to get! O is a mover and a shaker these days, and that scale is not a stable surface! I thought that we might have had our last scale photo at 5 months; but, when Daddy Q woke up, I put him to work. Daddy Q stood by to help re-balance the little man every couple of shots. Phew!

The not-so-little guy is 17 lbs 15 oz and 27 inches long--he is growing like a weed. Punkadoo has mastered sitting up and is now working on crawling. He grunts and gets upset when he can't quite reach a toy and his little body goes in circles instead of moving forward. It must be frustrating for him; but, I think it is kinda cute to watch him work on figuring out how to get where he wants to go.

Just this week, he started responding to the things he finds funny with a belly laugh. It just melts my heart and makes me laugh back. I am working on figuring out his sense of humour--interesting to see that some random, not-so-funny-things, bring on the laugh ;-)

To celebrate the 4th (and O's half birthday), this morning we got in the car and headed to the 4th of July parade downtown. Unfortunately, we were 30 minutes late and the only parade we saw was a parade of people headed back to their cars. We then decided to go have lunch!

Grammie and Paw Paw Mc came to visit! Baby O is sitting with Grammie on the back porch--they are both wearing their firework shirts!
Tonight, we loaded up in the Jeep and headed over to the field across the highway for some music and fireworks. This was O's first time in the Jeep with the top off. Yay!! The first trip was pretty dang short....rain drops began to fall on us not 25 yards from home. So, we circled the block and pulled back into the garage.
Half and hour later, the rain stopped and we headed out again. O is listening to the music and people watching.
We watched the works from the Jeep just in case the little guy didn't like the noise. We thought he would enjoy it--but, you never know.

Yeah...he enjoyed it alright. He was mesmerized by the colors and sounds. What a fun evening!
Happy Half-Birthday Baby O! We love you to pieces and have enjoyed every one of the 182 days you have been in our lives!
